Plane flying above trees in a suburban area.

New Jersey is one of the cradles of aviation. During World War II, thousands of planes were produced in our state, and it served as a testing and training ground for many pilots. It should, therefore, be no surprise that a number of horrific and historic airplane crashes have also occurred here.

The Hindenburg’s fiery crash in Lakehurst was the beginning of the end of airship travel. The live radio broadcast and newsreel footage showed across the nation made this disaster the first to be covered in real-time.

Three separate crashes that occurred within a three-month span during the early 1950s shut down what is now Newark Liberty International for months, and inspired new federal laws on airport safety.

Recent Plane Crash in a New Jersey Neighborhood

A recent plane crash in the Colonia neighborhood of Woodbridge serves as a reminder that air travel is still not a risk-free form of transportation. A Cessna 414A on its way from Virginia to the airport in Linden crash-landed on a house, which immediately caught fire and was completely destroyed. Two other homes in the immediate area were also damaged. Dr. Michael Schloss, the pilot, was the only person killed or even injured in the accident. He was a renowned cardiologist and an aircraft enthusiast with years of flying experience.

This plane crash is a sad reminder that no form of travel is completely safe. There are, and will always be, accidents that take lives, cause injuries, and damage property. When such an accident occurs, it is important to work with an experienced attorney to make sure that you and your loved ones are fully compensated for the harm you have suffered.

That harm may be physical, financial, or even emotional. It is often the scars that are invisible — those that are emotional or financial — that hurt the most and are the hardest to heal. While others will never understand your loss, or tell you it is time to move on, an experienced attorney can help you take stock of what has been taken from you, and figure out how to move forward.

Hire an Experienced Attorney to Recover Your Damages

Accidents don’t just happen. There is always something that causes them. When an accident is caused because someone behaved negligently, recklessly, or was violating the law, that someone should be held accountable.

Although your insurance company, or the insurance company of the person who caused the accident, may try to assure you that they will take care of you, you should be skeptical. Don’t let yourself be further victimized by a greedy corporation that is more concerned with its quarterly earnings statement than it is with your well-being.

Hiring an experienced personal injury attorney to negotiate on your behalf will ensure you have a strong fighter in your corner. It will allow you to step back and focus on healing and getting your life back on track while someone else protects you and advocates for you.
